Happy New Year’s Day everyone!
I know some don’t care for it, but it is probably one of the better man-made inventions. For people who need it, it provides them with a sort of ‘fresh-start’, for those who work too hard, it gives them a break, and it brings people together so it’s not so bad.
Personally, I don’t do anything to celebrate, which surprises some people since New Year’s Day is also my birthday. I’m just happy that this is one day I’m guaranteed to see my entire family since we all basically live in separate cities.
Anyway, a day off is a day off. Cheers folks.
I’m actually really sad. I love where I work. Two of my teammates had their last day (for the year) today, so it’s kind of sad that on my last day I won’t be seeing them.
As a holiday lunch special, the CIS (Creative and Interactive Services) team that I’m on decided to order Indian food (Indian cuisine is really diverse cause of all the regions, so in this case I mean North Indian/Punjabi…?) and christened our get-together “Festive Indian Lunch in Trailblazer lounge”. Woohoo.
I ATE GARLIC NAAN FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY.
Also, one of my designer (like graphic designer) friends at work made really good warm apple cider with brown sugar, cinnamon and pomander slices.
Typically, I don’t like the apple - cinnamon combination but I actually really liked the cider.
I’ve also decided to go back to work although I’ll now be working in Toronto. I visited the area, and it’s really pretty. Also, I just love my work and my team, and I think I have a lot to learn.
Now, hopefully I don’t fail the upcoming term (I’m back to school on Jan 3rd). I really hope I get my act together (a.k.a. pay attention in class, not skip and not always study at the last minute..)
Hope things are going as well for others as they are for me right now. :)
